Job summary

Medical City Dallas is seeking an RN Supervisor for Medical Surgical to lead nursing teams and coordinate patient care on the unit during the shift. The role directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in line with hospital policies and procedures, serving as a resource to staff and aligning with the organization’s mission and values.

The CNC role emphasizes collaboration with the management team, improving throughput, and delivering high-quality patient experiences.

Qualifications

• RN credential required.
• BSN degree required.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure throughput and high quality, patient-centered care.
• Participates in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services.
• Collaborates with managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
• Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
• Operates nursing strategies to improve engagement, including employee rounding and hourly rounds.
• Provides recommendations on interviewing, selecting, and training new staff; including performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Assists with staff scheduling and labor management per patient care needs.
• Supports inventory control and management of supplies and equipment.
