Job summary

The City of Virginia Beach Department of Human Services seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse Supervisor to lead our nursing staff within the Developmental Services Division’s Group Homes/Supportive Living program. The ideal candidate will have five years or more of direct supervision of RN(s) and LPN(s) and relevant long‑term care experience.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and current Virginia RN licensure (or compact designation).
• Five or more years of direct supervision of RN/LPN staff.
• Experience in long‑term care or ICF/ID settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees development, implementation, and evaluation of health care plans.
• Collaborates with physicians, medical director, and consultants for interdisciplinary care.
• Ensures compliance with departmental, city, state, and federal guidelines.
• Provides training and coaching to clinical and non‑clinical staff.
• Maintains infection‑control policies and medication administration procedures.
