Job summary

The City of Virginia Beach Department of Human Services seeks a licensed Registered Nurse to serve as RN Unit Manager for the Developmental Services division, with 2+ years of experience in caring for adults with disabilities. A $5,000 hiring bonus is available for the selected candidate.

The role includes supervising LPNs, guiding IPP-driven care, coordinating care with the IDT, and delivering staff training.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN licensure by Virginia or Compact Designation; 2+ years clinical experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide biological, psychological, and social assessments of clients.
• Use the nursing process to support IPP healthcare objectives.
• Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team and other health professionals to meet IPP goals and safety needs.
• Provide training to non-licensed staff on health care and medication administration.
• Supervise LPNs including performance evaluations and training.
• Complete QA review of healthcare records for the individual.
• Participate in trainings, meetings, and community engagements for residents in the ICF.
• Establish work schedules, monitor LPN leave, report overtime usage to the Nurse Manager.
• Provide on-call coverage on a rotating basis with RN team.
