Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL seeks an experienced RN leader for the Cardiac Cath Lab to coordinate staffing and ensure high-quality patient care in an EP Lab setting.

The position guides nursing and support staff on a 4x10 schedule at UAB St Vincent's Birmingham, contributing to hiring, training and performance improvement within a multidisciplinary team. Requires a nursing diploma and active RN license in Alabama, with BLS within 30 days.

• Active RN license by Alabama Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership for clinical objectives and patient care.
• Assign, direct, educate and monitor nursing and support staff during shifts.
• Assess daily patient care needs and assign care accordingly for population-specific care.
• Evaluate effectiveness of patient care and address issues affecting outcomes.
• Respond to complaints about patient care and manage through established channels.
• Participate in hiring, training, directing, and developing staff.

The Cardiac Cath Lab at UAB St Vincent'sBirminghamprovides expert cardiac carein an outpatient settingutilizingcutting-edgetechnologywith three fully equippedcathlabs and two non-invasive labs.Weoffer a range of diagnostic and interventional procedures, including procedures like heart catheterization and percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), as well as advanced imaging techniques such as intravascular ultrasound (IVUS, OCT) and functional assessments (FFR/iFR).As part ofa multidisciplinary team,you'llwork inanenvironment where yourexpertisecan make a lastingimpact.

Job Description

Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in assigned area.

• Assign, direct, educate and monitor nursing and support staff during assigned shift. Contribute to or perform performance evaluations of staff.
• Assess daily patient care needs and develop and distribute patient care assignments, ensuring thatpopulation appropriate patient care is given.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify any issues that affect desired patientoutcomes.
• Respond to complaints about patient care and manage through established channels.
• May provide input for hiring, training, directing, development and evaluating of staff.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and professional licensure/certification required.
• 1 (one) year of cumulative job specific experience required.
