Job summary

UAB Medicine seeks a Registered Nurse to join the Cardiac Cath Lab team in Birmingham. The role focuses on implementing and monitoring patient care plans and coordinating multidisciplinary care in a fast-paced unit.

Responsibilities include following orders, ensuring smooth discharge planning, and acting as a primary contact among physicians, nurses, and staff. Requires Alabama RN license, BLS/ACLS within specified timeframes, and a Diploma from an accredited nursing program.

Qualifications

• Active BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS certification obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in Alabama with current license at time of hire.

Our Cardiac Cath Lab team provides a comprehensive range of outpatient diagnostics and interventional procedures to manage and treat patients dealing with cardiovascular conditions. Utilizing advanced technology in three fully equipped cardiac catheterization labs, you’ll work as part of a team providing a variety of services, including heart catheterization, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), stent placement, and balloon angioplasty. We also specialize in advanced imaging techniques such as intravascular imaging (IVUS, OCT) and functional assessments (FFR, iFR) as well as structural heart procedures like transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), MitraClip, PFO closure, and device implantation.

Job Description

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND Required professional licensure at time of hire.
