Job summary

Trinity Health Ann Arbor is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 10E progressive care unit, specializing in care for renal, stroke, and seizure patients with continuous EEG monitoring.

Shifts run 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The unit supports full-time and part-time engagements with every other weekend and holiday requirements. Michigan RN licensure, BLS, and ACLS as noted are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nursing program enabling NCLEX exam eligibility and state RNlicensure
• Current State of Michigan RN license; BLS within protocol; ACLS required for specified units

Responsibilities

• Gathers and analyzes patient information
• Develops, implements, evaluates and revises an individualized plan of care
• Educates patient and family using teach-back methodology
• Participates in rounds and handoffs to communicate patient status and priorities
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and upholds mission and values of the health system

Position Purpose:

The 10E progressive care unit: Medical progressive care unit specializing in the care of diagnoses including renal, stroke, seizure with continuous EEG monitoring.

Shifts Available: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Status Available: Full time, Part time Every Other Weekend and Every other Holiday per year required for Full-time and Part-Time team members.

Required Qualifications:

Education

Graduation from a school of nursing that results in the ability of the graduate to sit for the NCLEX exam to become licensed as a Registered Nurse. BSN preferred.

Licensure

Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License.

BLS.

ACLS required for the following departments : Float Pool, Cardiac/Cath Lab, AICU, Emergency

Experience

Experienced Canadian Registered Nurses are encouraged to apply

• Graduation from accredited nursing program.

• Effective January 1, 2013 all new hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire or transfer to an RN role.

• Knowledge of nursing theory, practice and age specific needs

• Interpersonal skills necessary to initiate and maintain collegial relationships with coworkers and therapeutic relationships with patients and families.

• Critical thinking skills necessary to perform principal duties and responsibilities of job description.

• Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when planning and performing professional nursing care
