Job summary

Trinity Health in Ann Arbor seeks a Registered Nurse for the Stroke Step Down Unit. The role involves caring for patients with renal, stroke and seizure diagnoses with EEG monitoring, in a 7:00 PM–7:00 AM shift. Full-time and part-time roles with every other weekend/holiday requirements are available.

BSN preferred and Michigan RN licensure with BLS; ACLS for specific departments. Responsibilities include gathering patient data, planning and evaluating care, educating families, and ensuring

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nursing program leading to RN licensure (NCLEX eligibility)
• BSN preferred; plans to obtain BSN within five years for some roles

• Critical thinking and attention to detail in professional nursing care

Registered Nurse

Department: Stroke Step Down Unit

Location: Trinity Health Ann Arbor

Position Purpose: The 10E progressive care unit: Medical progressive care unit specializing in the care of diagnoses including renal, stroke, seizure with continuous EEG monitoring.

Shifts Available: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Status Available: Full time, Part time Every Other Weekend and Every other Holiday per year required for Full-time and Part-Time team members.

Required Qualifications

Education

Graduation from a school of nursing that results in the ability of the graduate to sit for the NCLEX exam to become licensed as a Registered Nurse. BSN preferred.

Licensure

· Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License.

· BLS.

· ACLS required for the following departments : Float Pool, Cardiac/Cath Lab, AICU, Emergency

Experience

Experienced Canadian Registered Nurses are encouraged to apply

• Graduation from accredited nursing program.

• Effective January 1, 2013 all new hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire or transfer to an RN role.

• Knowledge of nursing theory, practice and age specific needs

• Interpersonal skills necessary to initiate and maintain collegial relationships with coworkers and therapeutic relationships with patients and families.

• Critical thinking skills necessary to perform principal duties and responsibilities of job description.

• Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when planning and performing professional nursing care
