Job summary

Sunnyside-Presbyterian-Home in Harrisonburg, VA seeks an RN Staff Development Coordinator to lead training for nursing staff and nurse aide students. You will design and deliver clinical skills, regulatory compliance, dementia care, CPR, and other education programs to empower staff and improve person-centered care.

Responsibilities include collaborating with leadership, developing in-service training, maintaining records, overseeing nurse aide programs, and supporting infection control and QA

Qualifications

• Must hold an active RN license in Virginia.
• 3–5 years of long-term care experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Background in training adults preferred.
• Nurse supervisor/manager experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with healthcare leadership to ensure nursing care and regulatory compliance.
• Develop, coordinate, and deliver in-service training programs for nursing staff and healthcare team members.
• Ensure training meets state and federal requirements and maintain records.
• Oversee nurse aide program management and orientation support.
• Provide coaching to ensure staff meet nursing standards and competency requirements.
• Support infection control efforts including vaccinations and tracking.
• Participate in Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement activities.
• Coordinate CPR, CNA, and Med Tech trainings on-site and with vendors.
• Share on-call and weekend support on a rotating basis.
• Attend continuing education to stay current with nursing standards.
