Qualifications

• RN license in NC required.
• 5 years nursing experience in long-term care or nursing education.
• Ability to supervise nursing staff and ensure tasks are completed.
• Ability to teach, instruct, and direct orientation and continuing education.
• Read, know, and follow personnel, department and facility procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the staff development program for the Facility.
• Act as personnel health nurse for the Facility.
• Provide orientation for all employees per policy.
• Conduct blood-borne pathogens training for new employees and updates for staff.
• Conduct hazard communication training annually for all staff.
• Serve as primary instructor for Nurse Aide Training Program as approved by DFS.
• Post workshops and in-service or continuing education classes and encourage attendance.
• Coordinate, schedule and direct in-house in-service for all staff.
• Assist Nursing Management in reviewing incident reports.
• Serve as charge nurse or supervisor as needed in nursing emergencies.
