Job summary

Liberty Senior Living is seeking an experienced Staff Development Director (RN) for Pisgah Manor to oversee the staff development program and provide ongoing education for all facility employees. The role includes acting as the personnel health nurse and delivering required training such as blood borne pathogens and hazard communication, while supporting nursing leadership in emergencies.

The position requires an RN license in North Carolina, at least five years in long-term care or nursing

Qualifications

• RN license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
• Five years of nursing experience in a long term care setting, and/or nursing education experience.
• Ability to supervise nursing staff and ensure timely completion of work assignments.
• CPR certified yearly.
• Ability to teach, instruct and direct orientation and continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the staff development program for the facility.
• Act as personnel health nurse for the facility.
• Provide orientation for all employees.
• Conduct blood borne pathogens training and updates.
• Conduct hazard communication training and updates yearly.
• Serve as primary instructor for the Nurse Aide Training Program as approved.
• Post workshops and continuing education classes and encourage attendance.
• Coordinate and direct in-house in-service for all staff.
• Assist Nursing Management in incident reviews.
• Work as charge nurse or supervisor in nursing emergencies.
