Job summary

HCA Healthcare's Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse for Special Procedures. The role includes collecting specimens, assisting physicians, maintaining the Special Procedure area, and educating patients and families about procedures and follow-up care.

The ideal candidate will hold an RN license for VA or a multi-state compact, with BLS due within 30 days and ACLS within one year. An Associate Degree in Nursing is required; BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• RN license required for Virginia or multi-state compact.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• ACLS certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens for testing.
• Assist physician during procedure.
• Maintain and stock Special Procedure area.
• Be a resource for Surgical Scheduling relative to bookings.
• Provide relevant and complete documentation on patient related activity.
• Educate patient and family related to procedure, medications, follow-up home care.
• Stay current with available training and literature to ensure quality patient care in Special Procedures.

Job Summary and Qualifications

• Collect specimens for testing.
• Assist physician during procedure.
• You will maintain and stock Special Procedure area.
• Be a resource for Surgical Scheduling relative to bookings.

• Assume responsibility to stay current with available training and/or literature to ensure quality patient care in Special Procedures.

What qualifications will you need:

• RN VA License or Multi-state Compact License
• Basic Cardiac Life Support BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or ACLS certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• Associate Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred
