Job summary

LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, VA is seeking a Progressive Care Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. The RN works with medical providers to offer pre-operative and post-operative care and advocates for patients to ensure an exceptional experience.

You will assess patient conditions at admission and during shifts, perform procedures, document care, administer medications, and maintain knowledge of cardiac and medical-surgical care.

Qualifications

• RN license in good standing.
• ACLS and BCLS instructors must be obtained within specified timeframes.
• Progressive Care RN role requires related education and credentials.

• Document care administration in the patient record promptly and thoroughly.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor response.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

What qualifications you will need:

• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma
