Job summary

Williamsburg Landing, a CARF-accredited Life Plan Community in Virginia, seeks an RN Shift Supervisor to lead our nursing staff and ensure quality care and positive interactions with residents and families. The position reports to the Director of Nursing and serves on the Nursing Department Management Team.

Qualifications

• Virginia RN license is required.
• Minimum 3 years nursing experience in a post-acute setting and/or medical/surgical nursing.
• 1+ year of nursing supervision experience preferred.
• Infection prevention & control certification preferred or must be completed within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supports onboarding and staff training, ensures infection control policy adherence and accurate EMR documentation.
• Supervises daily nursing staff, conducts performance evaluations, and manages disciplinary actions when needed.
• Conducts rounds to monitor resident status and communicates with family and providers.
• Assists with staff scheduling and coverage, acts as floor nurse when needed.
• Participates in after-hours call rotation and ensures safety when staffing concerns arise.
• Coordinates admissions, discharges, transfers, and medication reconciliation, participates in interdisciplinary teams.
• Plans and attends staff meetings and quality committee meetings, reports on quality metrics.
• Manages grievances and facility issues, escalates to DON/Healthcare Administrator as needed.
• Performs audits and supports survey plans of correction.
• Ensures workers' compensation processes are completed by nursing staff.
