Job summary

SpectraCare is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide routine and emergency mental health and substance use stabilization within the CSU. The nurse will lead nursing interventions, administer medications, and coordinate treatment plans while adhering to Trauma Informed Care principles.

The role includes acting as Shift Coordinator, overseeing Mental Health Technicians, RNs, and other staff, with emphasis on patient safety and collaboration with the treatment team.

Qualifications

• RN license in Alabama with no restrictions.
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience; psychiatric experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with clean MVR.
• Knowledge of DSM V and crisis intervention.
• Ability to work in high-stress environments and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled nursing interventions on CSU.
• Administer IM and PO medications as prescribed.
• Develop treatment plans within 24 hours of admission.
• Coordinate with CSU team for stabilization and reviews.
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes daily.
• Serve as Shift Coordinator overseeing MHTs and RNs.
