Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing and MA RN licensure are required.
- DESE School Nurse license is a plus and preferred.
- Minimum two years of nursing experience including supervision.
- CPR, First Aid, and Safety Care certifications are required.
- Valid MA driver’s license and orientation in school health services.
Responsibilities
- Monitor health and safety of students and coordinate staff activities.
- Implement a comprehensive school health program per MA regulations.
- Prepare medications and train staff in medication administration.
- Coordinate state mandated health programs and surveillance.
- Maintain confidential health records and communicate with families.
- Provide staff training on health topics and safety protocols.
- Oversee in-service training for CPR, First Aid, AED, and health issues.
- Ensure lip service to MA vaccination, physicals, and screenings.
- Monitor meals and menus in residential facilities; order meds.
- Provide 24/7 medical emergency coverage and consult on issues.
