Job summary

Akron Children's is seeking a Staff Nurse Resource Pool I to deliver clinical nursing care across multiple units within the hospital system. The role emphasizes family-centered care, leadership, and teamwork in a pediatric setting.

Full-time night shifts from 7pm to 7:30am at 36 hours per week with a 0.9 FTE are available. Nurses may be rotated to different units as needed to support patient care needs across Akron Children's Hospital.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Ohio required.
• BSN degree required or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS, NRP and PALS must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and directs nursing care with a focus on family centered care for individuals or groups of patients within the assigned scope of practice.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age and developmental status is required.
• Performs leadership and professional duties.
• Performs patient-centered care duties.
• Performs quality improvement and safety duties.
• Participates in the development education for staff members for clinically related issues. May be responsible for precepting new employees and act as a mentor to the clinical staff.
• Performs evidence-based practice duties.
• Supports the provider staff and actively promotes collaboration for efficient operation and quality care, and legendary customer service for pediatric patients using a team approach.
• Performs systems-based practice duties.
• Performs informatics and technology duties.
• Staff may be temporarily assigned to an area throughout the Akron Children's Hospital enterprise, based on patient needs requiring similar knowledge and skill.
