Job summary

MultiCare Health System is offering a Residency RN - Transition to Practice Program at Tacoma General Hospital for new graduates or RNs transitioning to hospital/niche areas. The program blends classroom instruction with clinical hours under expert preceptors, building competence, autonomy and patient-centered care.

Schedule: 0.9 FTE with 12/40 shifts; variable schedule. BSN preferred; licensure in WA or MLS required along with BLS, ACLS/PALS/NRP within required timelines.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Washington State or MLS.
• BSN is preferred.
• Current BLS Certification required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP within 90 days of hire as required by department.
• TNCC, PEARS within 1 year of hire as required by department.

Responsibilities

• Learn to assess, plan, coordinate, evaluate, and delegate nursing functions across the lifespan of individuals, families, caregivers, and populations.
• Utilize the nursing process for nursing care and health teaching in health maintenance and disease prevention.
• Function interdependently when executing a medical regimen under physician direction.
• Collaborate to improve quality of care, patient experience, and cost reduction.
