Job summary

The CJW Medical Center's HCA Healthcare Residency Program at Johnston‑Willis Hospital offers a year‑long paid training helping new graduates transition to registered nurses.

Qualifications

• BLS obtained within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS obtained within 1 year of employment.
• Travel may be required during training.
• Graduate Nurse status or RN license in the state.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and at each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and document the administration of care in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor patient for therapeutic response, and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and proactively anticipate patient needs to resolve them.
• Teach patients, families, and caregivers about their condition, treatment plan, medications, and potential side effects, translating complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
