Job summary

TriCities Hospital in Virginia offers the HCA Healthcare Residency Program for new graduate nurses. This year-long program provides hands-on experience, mentorship from nurse educators, and a clear pathway from student nurse to registered nurse.

Residents receive advanced clinical training in a specialty area, monthly education sessions, preceptorship with a facility mentor, hands-on simulations, and a structured transition into licensed practice within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS within 1 year of employment.
• Other certifications may be required during employment.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Registered Nurse license or Graduate Nurse in the state.
• No previous experience needed.
• Some travel may be needed for training.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor responses.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, and medications.
