The HCA Healthcare Residency Program at Henrico Doctors' Hospital in Richmond, VA offers a paid RN residency designed to ease the transition from student to professional.

The program includes advanced clinical training, monthly education sessions, preceptorship, skills assessments, mentoring from nurse leaders, and a collaborative evidence-based practice project. Flexible start dates and unit-dependent shifts are available.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year of employment.
• Other certifications may be required during employment.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
• Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
• No previous experience needed.
• Some travel may be required for training.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, reporting changes.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, and document care in medical records.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor therapeutic responses.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.
• Teach patients and families about condition, plan, medications, and follow-up.
