Job summary

Firelands Health is seeking an RN operating room for a part-time, on-site role in Sandusky, OH. Shift runs 9:00 am to 5:30 pm with on-call responsibilities and a focus on patient-centered perioperative care.

Responsibilities include nursing process implementation, assessments, patient/family instruction, emergency responsiveness, and collaboration with the surgical team to ensure safe discharge. Firelands Health emphasizes ACE values and employee support.

Qualifications

• Current Ohio RN license and CPR required prior to patient care.
• Prefer at least 1 year of RN experience.
• ACLS and Basic EKG required or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Board certification preferred within 2 years in area of expertise.
• Excellent organizational, customer service skills, and computer proficiency are a must.

Responsibilities

• Implements the nursing process with patients including carrying out physicians orders regarding diet, medication and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care.
• Performs assessments; monitors and ensures quality care through observation and evaluation; documents nursing interventions on care plans, medical records, and reports findings to physicians as needed
• Instructs patients, staff, and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans and related patient care directed towards a safe discharge.
• Responds to emergencies; maintains availability of medications and supplies; ensures cleanliness of equipment and environment
• Demonstrate service excellence and ACE – Attitude, Commitment, Enthusiasm. Act as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.
