Job summary

Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, OH is seeking a part-time RN for the Critical Care unit, on-site from 7a to 7p. The role features a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio (some 1:1) with a retention bonus of $5,000 and strong employee benefits.

Alternating every third weekend, it offers work-life balance in a supportive, patient-centered environment. Minimum Ohio RN license required; ACLS, EKG, and ECCO aligned within 6 months of hire; CCRN/TNCC preferred within 2 years.

Qualifications

• Current Ohio RN license and CPR prior to patient care.
• Prefer at least 1 year of experience.
• Current ACLS, Basic EKG, and ECCO required or obtained within 6 months of hire and remain current.
• CCRN and TNCC certification is preferred within 2 years in area of expertise.
• Excellent organizational, customer service skills, and computer proficiency are a must.

Responsibilities

• Implements the nursing process with patients including carrying out physicians orders regarding diet, medication and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care.
• Performs assessments; monitors and ensures quality care through observation and evaluation; documents nursing interventions on care plans, medical records, and reports findings to physicians as needed.
• Instructs patients, staff, and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans and related patient care directed towards a safe discharge.
• Responds to emergencies; maintains availability of medications and supplies; ensures cleanliness of equipment and environment.
• Demonstrate service excellence and acts as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.
