Job summary

Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, OH is seeking a PRN RN to join our 4N/Med-Surg/Peds unit. The role supports patient care across multiple floors and emphasizes high-quality, compassionate nursing.

You will perform nursing assessments, administer medications, and assist with discharge planning while collaborating with physicians and the care team. Prior Ohio RN licensure and current CPR are required; ACLS/PALS are expected or pursued within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Must have a current Ohio RN license and CPR prior to patient care.
• ACLS, Basic EKG, and PALS required or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Board certification is preferred within 2 years in area of expertise.
• Excellent organizational, customer service skills, and computer proficiency are a must.

Responsibilities

• Implements the nursing process with patients including carrying out physicians orders regarding diet, medication and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care.
• Performs assessments; monitors and ensures quality care through observation and evaluation; documents nursing interventions on care plans, medical records, and reports findings to physicians as needed.
• Instructs patients, staff, and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans and related patient care directed towards a safe discharge.
• Responds to emergencies; maintains availability of medications and supplies; ensures cleanliness of equipment and environment.
• Demonstrate service excellence and acts as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.
