Job summary

Penn State Health - Hershey Outpatient Surgery Center in Hershey, PA is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room. This PRN/variable shift position requires OR nursing experience and current RN licensure, with BLS, ACLS and PALS in place or obtained within orientation.

The RN will provide patient care aligned with ANA/AORN/ASPAN standards, develop and revise care plans, and ensure safety in a dynamic ambulatory surgical setting. Benefits include tuition discounts for eligible employees.

• Develop, implement, evaluate and revise the plan of care adapting to clinical needs of the patient and caregiver.

Hours: Varied - 8 hour shifts, start times 7:00a - 8:00a, Monday - Friday. No Weekends or Holidays.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to patients in compliance with, but not limited to, Standards of Practice as defined by ANA, AORN, ASPAN and State Practice Act Standards, and organization protocols, policies, procedures, and guidelines. Develops, implements, evaluates, and revises plan of care based on physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs of the patient/caregiver. Maintains clinical knowledge and skills competencies to facilitate patient care in accordance with current standards of practice and monitors the environment to provide safe patient care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• Currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
• Minimum of two (2) years of recent Operating Room (OR) nursing experience.
• AHA BLS, ACLS & PALS before the end of the orientation period.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

• Prior Ambulatory Surgery experience preferred.
