Job summary

Firelands Health is seeking a registered nurse to provide direct patient care in our Sandusky Bay region hospital. You will implement the nursing process, perform assessments, document care, and educate patients and families while coordinating safe discharges.

Candidates must hold an Ohio RN license with CPR, and obtain ACLS and Basic EKG within 6 months of hire and maintain them. Excellent organizational and computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Ohio RN with CPR before patient care.
• ACLS and Basic EKG required or obtained within 6 months of hire and kept current.
• Strong organizational and customer service skills; proficient with computers.

Responsibilities

• Implements the nursing process with patients per physician orders and Firelands standards.
• Performs assessments, monitors care quality, documents interventions, reports findings.
• Educates patients, family, and staff on treatments and discharge plans.
• Responds to emergencies; ensures medications/supplies are available and equipment is clean.
• Advocates for service excellence and acts as a FRMC ambassador.

What You Will Do:

• Implements the nursing process with patients including carrying out physicians orders regarding diet, medication and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care.


• Performs assessments; monitors and ensures quality care through observation and evaluation; documents nursing interventions on care plans, medical records, and reports findings to physicians as needed.


• Instructs patients, staff, and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans and related patient care directed towards a safe discharge.


• Responds to emergencies; maintains availability of medications and supplies; ensures cleanliness of equipment and environment.


• Demonstrate service excellence and acts as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.

What You Will Need:

• Must have a current Ohio RN license and CPR prior to patient care experience.


• Current ACLS and Basic EKG required or obtained within 6 months of hire and remain current.


• Excellent organizational, customer service skills, and computer proficiency are a must.
