Job summary

Firelands Health in Sandusky, OH seeks a registered nurse to join our patient care team. You will implement the nursing process, perform assessments, and document care plans while collaborating with physicians to ensure safe discharge.

You should have an Ohio RN license, CPR, and ideally ACLS and TNCC. We offer a $5,000 retention bonus, a favorable nurse-to-patient ratio, and strong support for work-life balance with every third weekend off.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Ohio RN license and CPR prior to patient care.
• Prefer at least 1 year of experience.
• Current ACLS, Basic EKG, and ECCO required or obtained within 6 months of hire and remain current.
• CCRN and TNCC certification is preferred within 2 years in area of expertise.
• Excellent organizational, customer service skills, and computer proficiency are a must.

Responsibilities

• Implements the nursing process with patients including carrying out physicians orders regarding diet, medication and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care.
• Performs assessments; monitors and ensures quality care through observation and evaluation; documents nursing interventions on care plans, medical records, and reports findings to physicians as needed.
• Instructs patients, staff, and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans and related patient care directed towards a safe discharge.
• Responds to emergencies; maintains availability of medications and supplies; ensures cleanliness of equipment and environment.
• Demonstrate service excellence and acts as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.
