Job summary

Firelands Health in Sandusky, OH is seeking a registered nurse to deliver patient-centered care in a dynamic hospital setting. You will apply the nursing process, carry out physician orders, and coordinate with the care team to ensure safety and quality.

The role requires an Ohio RN license and CPR, with preferred 1 year of experience; certifications such as PALS, ACLS, EKG, TNCC are welcome. Excellent organizational and communication skills, plus comfort with computer systems, are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have current Ohio RN license.
• CPR required prior to patient care experience.
• Prefer at least 1 year of experience.
• Current PALS, ACLS, Basic EKG, and TNCC required or obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Implements the nursing process with patients, following physician orders and Firelands standards of care.
• Performs assessments and documents care plans, reports findings to physicians.
• Instructs patients, staff and family regarding treatments and discharge planning.
• Responds to emergencies; maintains medications and supplies; ensures equipment cleanliness.

What You Will Do:

• Implements the nursing process with patients including carrying out physicians orders regarding diet, medication and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care.
• Performs assessments; monitors and ensures quality care through observation and evaluation; documents nursing interventions on care plans, medical records, and reports findings to physicians as needed.
• Instructs patients, staff, and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans and related patient care directed towards a safe discharge.
• Responds to emergencies; maintains availability of medications and supplies; ensures cleanliness of equipment and environment.
• Demonstrate service excellence and acts as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.

What You Will Need:

• Must have a current Ohio RN license and CPR prior to patient care experience.
• Prefer at least 1 year of experience.
• Current PALS, ACLS, Basic EKG, and TNCC required or obtained within 6 months of hire and remain current.
• Excellent organizational, customer service skills, and computer proficiency are a must.
