UAB St. Vincent's Emergency Department in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Registered Nurse for full-time day shifts. The role focuses on managing emergency services activities, staffing and budget adherence within the department.

Responsibilities include ensuring regulatory compliance, assisting with hiring and staff development, and implementing policies to improve patient care delivery in a busy ED setting.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Alabama or eligible.
• BLS Provider required within 30 days of hire (AHA or Red Cross accepted).
• 3 years of ER nursing experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience.

What You Will Do

• Manage emergency services activities, workflow and nursing resources.
• Ensure departmental compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Assist with hiring, training, directing, development and evaluating of nursing staff.
• Identiy and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in a unit. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit.
• Monitor and adhere to budget(s). Approve or monitor expenditures, purchases and other actions to ensure compliance with budget guidelines.

What You Will Need

• Licensure / Certification / Registration:
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Education:
• Required professional licensure/certification and diploma from an accredited school/college of Nursing. 3 years of experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience required.
