Job summary

UAB St. Vincent's Emergency Department in Pell City, AL is seeking a registered nurse for full-time night or evening shifts.

Responsibilities include direct nursing care, care plan implementation, and coordinating multidisciplinary services to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Required licensure and certifications include BLS, ACLS, and PALS with Alabama RN licensure; previous emergency or critical care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active BLS Provider certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire date.
• PALS within 6 months of hire date.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed by the Alabama Board of Nursing prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care per department policies and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; document patient condition.
• Coordinate care as primary liaison among disciplines for well-coordinated care.
• Execute physician and nursing orders accurately.
• Assess and coordinate discharge planning with the healthcare team.

• Full-time Evenings- 1pm-1am or 3pm -3am
• Weekends only
• PRN Rotating

Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's St. Clair - Pell City, AL.

What You Will Do

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• PALS Provider obtained within 6 months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
• For the Freestanding Emergency Room, a minimum of one (1) year of critical care or emergency experience is required.
