Job summary

UAB St. Vincent's Chilton - Clanton, AL is seeking registered nurses for the Emergency Department. You will provide direct nursing care, implement care plans, coordinate patient care and discharge planning in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include Alabama RN license, BLS, ACLS and PALS within specified timeframes, and a Diploma in nursing. One year of critical care or emergency experience is preferred. Generous benefits are available for eligible positions.

Qualifications

• RN diploma or equivalency required.
• Alabama Board of Nursing licensure prior to hire.
• BLS within 30 days of hire; ACLS within 180 days; PALS within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care per established policies and procedures.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; monitor, record, and communicate patient condition.
• Serve as primary coordinator of interdisciplinary care for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.

• Full-time Nights- 7pm-7am
• Full-time Evening- 7am -7pm
• PRN Tier I & II

Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's Chilton - Clanton, Al.

What You Will Do

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• PALS Provider obtained within 6 months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
• For the Freestanding Emergency Room, a minimum of one (1) year of critical care or emergency experience is required.
