Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking an experienced registered nurse to provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department. The role includes coordinating care across disciplines, implementing care plans, and communicating patient status with the team.

Candidates must hold an Alabama RN license and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications within designated timelines. A nursing diploma and licensure are required at hire, with on-site work at UAB St. Vincent's East in Trussville, AL.

Qualifications

• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required within specified timeframes.
• Alabama RN licensure from the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program and professional licensure at hire required.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• PALS Provider obtained within 6 months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of
  Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
  
  • For the Freestanding Emergency Room, a minimum of one (1) year of critical care or emergency
    experience is required.
