The registered nurse independently provides routine and complex patient care, demonstrating awareness of clinical situations and managing long-term goals.

1. Utilizes the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation—while addressing patients' psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs.
2. Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitors outcomes, and documents patient information accurately.
3. Assesses learning needs and educates patients, families, and caregivers, identifying issues and resources.

5. Practices within the ANA scope and standards of practice, aligning with applicable competency standards.
