Baptist Health Walker Hospital in Jasper, AL is seeking an ICU RN to join our night shift team on a full-time basis, working three 12-hour shifts per week. This role provides advanced nursing care to critically ill patients and requires quick, precise clinical judgment.

You will collaborate with physicians and the care team, monitor patients with specialized equipment, and contribute to evidence-based practice while supporting families.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing, meeting Baptist Health competency requirements.
• Maintains Alabama RN license or valid eNLC multistate license.
• Maintains BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience in an acute care facility; 2+ years preferred.

Night Shift

Responsibilities

• Provides advanced nursing care for critically ill patients requiring complex assessments, high-intensity interventions, and continuous monitoring.

• Uses clinical judgment and assessment data to anticipate, prioritize, and respond quickly to changing patient conditions.

• Operates, monitors, and adjusts specialized medical equipment and interprets data from monitoring systems.

• Responds to emergencies using established nursing standards, protocols, and life‑saving interventions.

• Assesses patient needs, develops and revises individualized care plans, and evaluates patient outcomes.

• Advocates for patients and families while ensuring age‑appropriate care across the lifespan.

• Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams and may serve as charge nurse, preceptor, or educator.

• Documents care accurately, delegates tasks appropriately, and ensures compliance with evidence‑based practice and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Education/Training

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Baptist Health unit/department.

Licensure/Certification

• Maintains current State of Alabama RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.

Experience

• Must have at least 1 year of RN experience in an acute care facility. 2 years or more is preferred.
