Haven Hospice in Gainesville, FL is seeking an On-Call Registered Nurse to provide compassionate end-of-life care during after-hours. This onsite position requires clinical excellence, strong communication, and the ability to work independently with team support.

You will collaborate with hospice staff to assess symptoms, administer medications, document care, and support families through difficult times. A Florida RN license and CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with Florida licensure.
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience; 3+ years preferred.
• Experience in hospice or similar setting preferred.
• Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with insured vehicle.
• Possess and maintain current CPR certification where required.

Responsabilités

• Provide 1:1 care to hospice patients during after-hours.
• Collaborate with Remote Triage On Call Team if applicable.
• Assess and manage urgent symptoms quickly and compassionately.
• Administer medications or adjust care per hospice protocols.
• Document timely and communicate with the hospice team.
• Pronounce death and support family if death occurs.
• Guide families and patients on next steps.

Schedule:FT Monday -Friday 4pm to Midnight. This is an onsite position- going to do Patient care.

As a On-Call RN You will:

• (CHOOSE ONE: If office HAS a Remote Triage team) Collaborate with Remote Triage On Call Team to deliver hands-on care to hospice patients and offer supportive services to their families during after-hours, on an on-call basis

• (CHOOSE ONE: If office DOES NOT have Remote Triage) Deliver hands-on care to hospice patients and offer supportive services to their families during after-hours, on an on-call basis

• Assess and manage urgent symptoms quickly and compassionately

• Administer medication or adjust care based on hospice protocols or provider orders

• Communicate with the physician regarding changes in condition and obtain orders as necessary

• Offer guidance and support to the patient and family in understanding the current condition and anticipating the next steps

• If a death occurs during on-call hours, the RN will go to the home or facility to pronounce death, provide support to the family, contact the funeral home, and notify the hospice team

• Complete timely documentation and communication

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school with current licensure to practice in state of operation

• One year nursing experience required, 3+ years preferred

• Experience in hospice or a similar setting preferred

• Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care

• Commitment to clinical and documentation excellence

• Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order
• Possess and maintain current CPR certification in states where required.
