Job summary

UAB Medicine in Pell City, AL, is seeking an experienced Emergency Department nurse to provide direct patient care in accordance with established policies and protocols. This role involves implementing care plans, monitoring patient conditions, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely, well-coordinated care.

The ideal candidate holds current Alabama RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, with a minimum of one year in critical care or emergency settings.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider required within 1 month of hire.
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
• PALS required within 6 months of hire.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing prior to hire.

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• PALS Provider obtained within 6 months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
  
  • For the Freestanding Emergency Room, a minimum of one (1) year of critical care or emergency experience is required.
