Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse to perform quality improvement activities in Health Services. The RN, Quality Control will oversee duties described in the department and ensure compliance with federal, state and local standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the health care team, analyzing performance data, and developing improvement plans. The role requires strong communication, clinical assessment, and independent work in a correctional health setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have a current, unrestricted RN license in the state of the facility.
• Two years of direct work experience preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and infection control standards.
• Competence in crisis intervention, medical emergencies, physical assessment, and psychiatric nursing care.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
• Ability to work independently and follow approved protocols.
• Proficient with computers and department software.

Responsibilities

• Assists with inquiries by outside agencies during audits or reviews.
• Develops processes and procedures to ensure quality patient services and compliance with standards.
• Coordinates with health care team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
• Analyzes performance data to identify trends and improve patient services while reducing costs.
• Identifies areas for improvement, analyzes root causes, and implements changes with measurable impact.
• Identifies and helps resolve non-compliance and integrates standards into processes.
• Documents and reports improvement activities internally and externally as appropriate.
• Reviews services and charges and applies performance improvement tools.
• Plans and organizes quality control programs and activities.
• Provides recommendations to management regarding quality control programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
