RN-Quality Clinical Excellence Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented RN Quality Clinical Excellence Specialist to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in coordinating efforts related to disease-specific certifications and ensuring compliance with clinical excellence standards, particularly in Heart Failure (HF) and Stroke care. The ideal candidate will play a key role in quality improvement initiatives, accreditation readiness, and clinical staff education to drive superior patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Certification Management:
    • Coordinate activities, metrics, and standard compliance related to Heart Failure and Stroke Disease Specific Care Certifications.
    • Lead and support accreditation and re-certification efforts to maintain recognition of clinical excellence.
  2. Quality Improvement (QI) Initiatives:
    • Collect, analyze, and present QI data including Core Measures, medical staff quality data, occurrence and complaint data, and peer review metrics.
    • Serve as a QI leader, collaborating across departments and QA teams to drive performance improvement efforts.
  3. Performance & Compliance Leadership:
    • Facilitate hospital-wide compliance with accreditation and certification standards.
    • Lead performance improvement teams focused on disease-specific care.
  4. Education & Staff Support:
    • Serve as a resource for hospital leadership and staff regarding HF and Stroke care standards.
    • Provide staff education and lead orientation sessions for new employees.
    • Support clinical team rounding with expertise in quality and certification practices.
  5. Survey & Accreditation Preparation:
    • Lead hospital accreditation survey activities and ensure continuous readiness.
  6. Community Engagement:
    • Develop and lead community outreach programs related to Heart Failure and Stroke awareness and prevention.
  7. Clinical Excellence Advocacy:
    • Demonstrate problem-solving skills and implement process improvements to enhance patient care.
Qualifications:
  • Current RN license (State of [Insert State])
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN); MSN preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in cardiovascular or stroke care
  • Experience in quality improvement, clinical documentation, or accreditation
  • Proficient in data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Strong communication, education, and teamwork skills
  • Familiarity with Joint Commission standards, Core Measures, and Disease-Specific Certifications is preferred
Must-Haves:
  • RN licensure
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2-3 years clinical hospital experience
Nice-To-Haves:
  • Certification as Heart Failure Nurse
  • Subject Matter Expert in clinical practice guidelines and evidence-based practices for stroke, heart failure, and chest pain
