Qualifications

• Nursing degree or higher from an accredited program.
• Current Illinois RN license required.
• CPR/BLS current; ACLS within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Establish a compassionate environment to provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patient and families.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individual plan of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team.
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote, attain, and maintain the optimum health level of patients.
• Demonstrate clinical judgement with critical thinking to recognize, act upon, and report changes in patient condition.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in the patient medical record.
• Provide input into policies and procedures to support patient safety and quality of care.
• Supervise and delegate to licensed practical nurses and/or unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Advocate for the patient by communicating and collaborating with other health service professionals.
• Timely completion of required education, competencies, and licensure.
• Float to other SIH nursing units within competency level.
