Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a registered nurse for the Progressive Care (Step down) unit at The Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati. The RN will provide exceptional nursing care, assess patient status, and develop care plans to improve outcomes in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities include collaborating with the care team, conducting assessments, coordinating patient care, and maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred, not required).

Responsibilities

• Assess patient status with strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Serve as the service line between Med-Surg and ICU units.
• Determine the priority of the patient’s problems and needs.
• Develop and perform patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes.
• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyze data, create a care plan, implement treatment, and evaluate effectiveness.
• Serve as point of contact for patients’ care coordination across departments.
• Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in quality improvement.
