Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, IA is seeking a full-time registered nurse for day shift. The role provides individualized nursing care to patients of all ages and supports a team-based approach across admission, transfer, and discharge.

You will deliver nursing care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, Mercy policies, and professional standards, with shifts rotating including weekends and holidays as scheduled. Duties may vary by unit and shift.

Qualifications

• Current RN license issued in Iowa or a compact state.
• BLS certification required within six weeks of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training completed within three months of hire.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Independently delivers nursing care using the Nurse Practice Act, Mercy Medical Center policies, nursing standards, ethical principles, and professional judgment. Works rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. Job duties may vary by shift or may be unit-specific.

• Possession of a current or compact state license as a Registered Nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa.
• Basic Life Support certified within six (6) weeks of hire. The acceptable credentialing body is the American Heart Association.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to populations served within three (3) months of hire.
• Ability to read, write and speak English language.
