Job summary

JPS Health Network is seeking an RN PRN for Med Surg to assess, plan, and deliver high-quality nursing care for assigned patients. The role requires flexibility to cover day shifts and maintain a minimum number of shifts per the RN PRN Workplan.

Ideal candidates hold a nursing diploma or higher, Texas licensure, and at least 12 months of RN experience, plus BLS, with ACLS optional for certain units. The position operates on the 7a-7p schedule at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.

Qualifications

• Licensed nursing diploma or equivalent from an accredited program.
• Current licensure in Texas or reciprocity within 90 days.
• Minimum 12 months of RN experience.
• Current JPS-recognized BLS certification.
• Completion of unit-specific orientation within 90 days.
• ACLS certification within 90 days if on a monitored unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate quality patient care following the nursing process.
• Monitor patient conditions and vital signs, report changes.
• Complete data collection from patient and history.
• Collaborate with care team to set goals and discharge plans.
• Deliver education addressing identified knowledge deficits.
• Document thoroughly in medical records and orders.
