Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, part of Central Maine Healthcare (CMH) within Prime Healthcare Foundation, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Preceptor to mentor clinical staff and supervise nursing activities.

You will guide and support preceptees, coordinate with physicians and the nursing director, and ensure patient care quality, privacy, and confidentiality while promoting ongoing education and practice excellence. Full-time, day shift.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS certificate required upon hire and maintained.
• ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Prior acute care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• RN-BC or similar certification preferred.
• Completion of preceptor class.
• BSN required.

Responsibilities

• Guides, directs and supervises nursing activities of the preceptee.
• Provides guidance on patient care and scope of practice; creates learning opportunities.
• Communicates changes in patient condition with physicians and staff.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Collaborates with patients, families and hospital staff to achieve goals.
