Job summary

Centerpoint - Winchester is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for PreOp/PACU to support our surgical services. The role involves caring for patients before and after surgery, documenting care, and collaborating with the care team across disciplines.

The position requires an active KY RN license, required degrees, and completion of BLS, ACLS, and PALS within set timeframes. A sign-on bonus of $10,000 is offered and work includes call coverage with 4 ten-hour shifts per week.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license
• Degree from an accredited nursing school
• BLS within 10 days of hire
• ACLS within six months of hire
• PALS within six months of hire

Responsibilities

• Perform plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care
• Document patient care given
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to care team, physician, patient, and family
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharge, referrals and psychosocial support needs
• Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances throughout perioperative process
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient
• Assess and care for surgical patient throughout perioperative process by preadmission testing, day-of-surgery prep, and care for Phase I, II and Extended Level of Care after surgery
