Job summary

Centerpoint Health - Winchester, located in Winchester, KY, is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for PreOp/PACU. This full-time day shift role includes a $10,000 sign-on bonus and requires 4 10-hour shifts with on-call responsibilities.

You will provide care across the perioperative continuum, document care, collaborate with the care team, and support patients and families through the preoperative and recovery phases.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing, required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• Current RN license to practice in KY.
• BLS within 10 days of hire.
• ACLS within six months of hire.
• PALS within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Document patient care given.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborate as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances throughout the perioperative process.
• Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Assess and care for the surgical patient throughout the perioperative process by performing preadmission testing, preparing the patient day of surgery and providing care for Phase I, Phase II and Extended Level of Care after surgery.
