Job summary

Centerpoint Health - Paris, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PACU in Paris, KY. The role is full-time days with 5 eight-hour shifts weekly and on-call consideration.

The PACU RN will perform care planning, administer medications, document care, prepare patients and suites, monitor conditions, and coordinate across disciplines to ensure seamless perioperative care. A KY license and an Associate's degree are required.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing, required
• KY RN state licensure, required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS), required
• ACLS & PALS, preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient and family.
• Prepares, positions, and transports patients for procedures.
• Prepares surgical and endoscopy suites with solutions, scopes, equipment, and supplies. Validates proper reprocessing of scopes for every procedure.
• Assesses and cares for patients throughout the perioperative process, including pre-procedure and post-procedure care.
• Operates specialized equipment and maintains a safe environment.
• Accounts for use of supplies during surgical/endoscopy procedures.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances throughout the perioperative process.
• Assists patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
