Job summary

University Surgical Center is hiring a Preoperative PACU Registered Nurse to provide continuity and quality care for patients emerging from anesthesia in an outpatient setting.

The role requires PACU/critical care experience, active RN license, and BLS/ACLS; PALS as needed. We offer a sign-on bonus and a collaborative environment with physicians and staff dedicated to high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• The PACU RN provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times.
• May assist physicians in procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile techniques as appropriate.
• Provides total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.
