Job summary

Saint Mary’s Hospital, part of Trinity Health, is seeking a Performance Improvement Specialist (RN) to implement and maintain a comprehensive Safety, Quality and Performance Improvement Program on-site in Waterbury, CT.

The role requires an RN license in Connecticut and a Master’s degree is preferred. Expect to lead audits, data analysis, RCA/Lean initiatives, and staff safety training with a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance and patient care quality.

Qualifications

  • CT RN license is required.
  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare, or related field preferred.

  • Conduct root cause investigations in surgery.
  • Perform chart reviews and audits to support investigations.

Position Purpose

The Performance Improvement Specialist implements and maintains a compliant, comprehensive, organization-wide, Safety, Quality and Performance Improvement Program.

What you will do

Minimum Qualifications

  • CT RN license required

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare, or related field preferred

  • At least five (5) years hospital experience preferred

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, patient quality of care and safety initiatives; RCA or Lean Management skills preferred

  • Leadership experience with regulatory requirements for reporting and subsequent response criteria
