Job summary

The RN at Caring Hospice Services travels to patient homes across New Jersey, providing nursing care with emphasis on pain and symptom control. You will assess physical and psychological status, document interventions, and communicate with physicians to adjust care plans.

Candidates must hold an active NJ RN license and have strong assessment, documentation, and interpersonal skills. Hospice experience preferred, and reliable vehicle with insurance is required.

Qualifications

Job description

The RN provides nursing care with special emphasis on control of pain and other symptoms to the hospice patient.

Job Functions for Registered Nurse:

• Assess the physical and psychological status of the patient.
• Reviews past and present medical history of the patient. Perceptive in planning and problem solving.
• Provides emotional support to caregivers.
• Responds to calls promptly when received from answering service. Is able to prioritize.
• Able to work independently and make critical decisions based on available patient information.
• Performs ongoing assessment of patients conditions, physical needs and needs of family for support in giving care.
• Maintains ongoing communication with prescribing physician for changes in medication and treatments as needed.
• Documents hospice patients condition and nursing interventions on clinical record.

Qualifications:

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in New Jersey
• Hospice Experience Preferred
• Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid requirements outlined in the laws of licensure in the state(s) which he/she practices.
• Must possess strong patient assessment, patient management and documentation skills.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, telephone, documentation and communication skills
• Access to reliable automobile with proof of liability insurance
