Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology unit in New Brunswick, NJ. The 11-bed unit delivers comprehensive care from infancy through young adulthood, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy and supportive therapies.

The role requires an active NJ RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and APHON chemotherapy certification, with a night shift, 36 hours per week. Night differential applies; prior pediatrics preferred.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• ACLS Certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification, and APHON Chemotherapy Certification are required.
• 1-year pediatric experience is required.
• Previous Pediatric Oncology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognizing subtle clinical changes, intervening early as needed.
• Administering safe, evidence-based medications and treatments with strong clinical judgment.
• Collaborating with physicians and advanced providers for timely, coordinated care decisions.
• Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families for next steps in care.
• Ensuring accurate documentation within the EMR to support continuity and safety.
• Contributing to interdisciplinary rounds and teamwork for smooth transitions of care.
• Pursuing continued professional growth through access to education and clinical ladder opportunities.
