Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology unit at the Main Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. You will work night shifts (7pm–7:30am), 36 hours per week, in an 11-bed unit providing care from infants to young adults, including chemotherapy and supportive therapies.

The role emphasizes teamwork, patient education, and high-quality care in a research-active environment with strong safety and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS, PALS and APHON chemotherapy certification required.
• 1 year pediatric experience required; pediatric oncology preferred.
• BN/BSN strongly preferred; EMR experience (EPIC).

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes early.
• Administer medications and provide hands-on care with evidence-based practice.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers for coordinated care.
• Educate patients and families clearly to support ongoing care.
• Document accurately in the EMR to ensure safety and continuity.
• Contribute in interdisciplinary rounds to enhance communication.
• Engage in a collaborative team culture and pursue professional growth.
